The Alfa de Oro 2017 awards go to Zschimmer & Schwarz, Bestile, Neos and Color Esmalt

Zschimmer & Schwarz, Color Esmalt and a joint project by Bestile and Neos Additives are the winners of the Alfa de Oro 2017 awards, the 41st edition of the initiative organised by the Spanish Ceramics and Glass Society (SECV) to honour the most innovative technologies developed in the Castellón ceramic district. The Alfa de Oro 2017 awards were announced and presented on the evening of Monday 20 February at Cevisama, the exhibition in Valencia which will run until 24 February.

Zschimmer & Schwarz won the award for developing a system for adapting traditional screen printing inks for use with new technologies.

Bestile and Neos Additives were honoured for a joint project in which they developed a modelling software capable of creating ceramic formulations using artificial intelligence-based algorithms.

Color Esmalt won the Alfa de Oro award for developing a clear matt digital ink which will improve the mechanical strength of ceramic tile surfaces.
