Construction begins on new neighbourhood in Sofia

The project will cover an area of 140 hectares and will cost more than half a billion euros

Velocity is the name of the new neighbourhood due to be built over the next eight years near Voluyak in the suburbs of Sofia, Bulgaria. The project will cover an area of 140 hectares and will cost more than half a billion euros, of which 55 million euros has already been invested.

The planned neighbourhood will meet sustainability criteria with cycle paths, green spaces and electric vehicle charging stations. It will feature new housing, schools, medical facilities, offices, shopping centres and cultural and sports facilities.
