Energy saving in ceramics

25/05/2021

The next webinar organised by Ceramic World Web for TecnaNext.com will feature talks by Sacmi, System Ceramics, Solar Turbines and Gmm Group. The event will be livestreamed on 26 May in Italian and on 27 May in English

What technologies to adopt to reduce the energy consumption of production processes in the ceramic industry? What are already available today and what will be the new goals in terms of energy efficiency?

This highly topical theme will be discussed at the next webinar in the “Ceramics: what’s next?” series entitled “Energy Saving in Ceramics” to be livestreamed in two sessions on the Tecna Next platform:

We will be accompanied in this analysis by leading companies in their respective fields, namely Sacmi, System Ceramics, Solar Turbines, and Gmm Group.

Stefano Orlandi (Energy and Environment Product Manager at Sacmi) will address the theme of heat recovery both from kilns and cogeneration plants, presenting two new applications, namely heat recovery for new Zero Fuel Dryers and the new heat exchanger for recovery from kiln fumes.

Next, Eustachio Tarasco (Engineering Manager at System Ceramics) will describe the advantages of Superfast technology in terms of sustainability and energy saving, explaining how to optimize the forming process of large size tiles for better consumption control.

He will be followed by Paolo Masiero (Market Development Manager at Solar Turbines, CHP, Energy Efficiency, Digitalization), who will introduce the concept of "Smart CHP", describing how the evolution to smart gas turbine increases the sustainability and reduces the operating costs of the combined heat and power plant (CHP); this is due to the management of "big data" generated and acquired from both the CHP itself and the external environment.

The webinar will be concluded with a talk by Aleandro Azzaro (Chief Business Officer of Gmm Group), who will present the results in terms of production and energy efficiency, that can be achieved through industrial components and innovative solutions of predictive maintenance and machinery overhaul.
