Tecnargilla Design Award - Colorobbia

From Leonardo to digital
This work highlights the fact that art and science are often strongly interconnected, to the extent that one frequently constitutes the substance of the other. The pop-art-inspired work is part of a complex graphic project centring on a famous image from the history of art revisited in a modern vein. There is a clear reference to Andy Warhol, whose typically bright, lively colours are enhanced by the chromatic potential of the new digital technology. Testifying to the universal character of the work, the porcelain tile and porous single fired tile technologies have been combined, while the composition is enriched with graphic and material effects reflecting the entire world of ceramic surfaces.
