The exhibition "Barcode: the intellectual workspace" opens

The exhibition “Barcode: the intellectual workspace”, the third event in the series “Milano Work in Progress” devoted to major works that are either newly built or under construction in Milan, will be officially opened at 6.30 p.m. on Thursday 4 November, in Via Borgognone 27 in Milan. The exhibition will be curated by architects Luca Molinari and Simona Galateo and will be held in Spaziofmgperl’architettura, the architecture and interior design gallery run by FMG Fabbrica Marmi e Graniti and Iris Ceramica.

The project showcased in the gallery concerns the remodelling and reorganisation of the three buildings and activities of RCS MediaGroup and has been commissioned to practices Boeri Studio, Barreca & La Varra and Stefano Boeri Architetti.

The complex in Via Rizzoli has been architecturally refurbished according to the theme of a barcode, explored in an original fashion in each of the three buildings. The theme is based on two concepts: an imaginary bookshop building that transforms book spines into graphic elements; and the dual nature of books as commercial products complete with barcodes and as cultural receptacles for thoughts.

The exhibition will run from 5 November to 3 December, from 3.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. Admission is free.
