On Tuesday 12 November “The Future of Ceramics” hosted the technological session of the 11th Acimac Annual Meeting devoted this year to the highly topical theme of digitalisation of ceramic companies.

Solutions for complete digitalisation of factories, intralogistics and warehouses and the new frontiers of digital decoration were the themes explored by leading supplier companies: BMR, LB, Metco, Movetro/Intermac, Plannet, Proteo, Sacmi, Sicer, System Ceramics, Toyota Material Handling and Weflex.

The audience showed a keen interest in the 13 presentations, all of which were of very high quality in terms of content. There were also three roundtable discussions where the speakers shared ideas and opinions with the producer companies represented by Maurizio Mambelli (Florim), Giulia Catti and Matteo Bondavalli (Mariner), Roberto Fornaciari (Labocer), Luca Costi (Del Conca), Gianpaolo Capitanio (Casalgrande Padana), Gilberto Pedna (ABK), Alessandro Barbieri (Italgraniti) and Eugenio Belli (Kerbell).

It was the tile manufacturers themselves who argued that it is now essential for ceramic producers to continue the process of digitalisation they have initiated and that the transformation into full-scale smart factories needs to be completed within the shortest possible timeframe.
