Keller HCW supplies eighth plant to Ibstock Group

Keller HCW has been commissioned by Ibstock Group, the UK’s largest brick manufacturer, to supply an ultra-modern facing brick plant located in the village of Ibstock.

This is the Group’s third brick plant at this location and the eighth plant supplied by Keller. The new plant is scheduled to start up in 2017 and will produce approximately 100 million soft mud bricks a year.

The plant supplied by Keller HCW will start downstream of the soft mud plant supplied by De Boer. It has a range of innovative characteristics and delivers significant energy savings.

The contract includes a tunnel dryer with slotted jet walls and integrated sand collecting and cleaning equipment, a solution that allows for optimal heat energy management but is still relatively uncommon for soft mud installations.

Another important feature is the Siemens TIA S7-1500 portal control system, which is suitable for both process control and automation technology.
