Heavy Clay

Sacmi sets off to Algiers for Batimatec 2016

The Sacmi Group will be out in force at the 2016 edition of Batimatec, the international construction fair due to open its doors on 3 May in Algiers.

The Imola-based group will be showcasing its latest cutting-edge brick and tile production technology at its stand located at the entrance to hall A (outer section).

In the heavy clay sector, Sacmi recently won orders for 5 complete production plants now in the process of being assembled.

These join the Group’s already long list of customers, further extended by the many systems built by Cosmec, the automation specialist that recently joined the Group.

The fast-growing Algerian heavy clay market has rewarded Sacmi’s philosophy of supplying high-tech plants, particularly firing, drying and product handling technology. After years of focusing on light hollow B8/B12 bricks, the country is now showing signs of interest in new products such as ceiling bricks and structural/thermal blocks.

These products involve more complex production processes that require both traditional automation and more advanced robotized solutions. Alongside its cutting-edge range of heavy clay systems, Sacmi will be presenting its innovative solutions for tile manufacturing at the show.

Sacmi will also be catering for customers and visitors interested in machinery and equipment for tile production, who will have the opportunity to discover the latest Sacmi offerings in the field of digital decoration with the new DHD digital printer. The 3.0 version of the wet digital decorator is equipped with Dimatix heads and belongs to a new generation of ink-jet machines for the controlled application of inks and glazes as part of a fully digitalised glazing line that further expands the product’s aesthetic potential. Sacmi is present in the Algerian market with an extensive sales network that offers continuous technical and commercial support to local customers.
