Index and The Big 5 postponed to 2021

The two shows organised by dmg events will be held respectively from 31 May to 2 June and from 12 to 15 September 2021 in the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Index and The Big 5, the most important trade fairs in the Middle East dedicated respectively to interior design and construction, have been put back by a year.

The organisers, dmg events, have announced the cancellation of the two shows scheduled this year (Index was due to be held in September and The Big 5 in November). The events will now be held in 2021, again in the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Index (along with the co-located events Workspace, The Leisure Show and The Hotel Show) will now be held from 31 May to 2 June to ensure a safe environment and a truly international event, conditions that are impossible this year due to travel restrictions.

The Big 5 will take place from 12 to 15 September 2021, along with the specialist satellite events The Big 5 Heavy, Middle East Concrete, HVAC R Expo, Middle East Stone, The Big 5 Solar, and the Urban Design & Landscape Expo.

With Dubai moving the 2020 World Expo to October 2021, the next edition of The Big 5 will boost the construction sector’s recovery efforts in the post-COVID-19 era and will come at a time during which Dubai is expected to enter an exciting new growth phase. In the lead-up to 2021, the Big 5 will launch a new Digital Festival of Construction in November, a series of digital events and initiatives aimed at connecting and empowering construction players across the globe.
