Cerámicas Lourdes, a ceramic tile manufacturer based in Burzaco, Buenos Aires province, will be blazing a trail in Argentina this autumn when it begins production of porcelain panels in sizes up to 1600x3200 mm using a new plant supplied by System. The core technology in the line is the LAMGEA 33000 mouldless press.

This investment will enable the company to offer a highly innovative range of high-value products with outstanding technical and aesthetic characteristics as well as utterly new sizes and thicknesses for the Argentine market, thereby improving its competitiveness and strengthening its domestic leadership. It will also give it the opportunity to enter new market segments to offset the fall in demand in traditional markets.

The new factory, built alongside the existing site, will be completely automated in accordance with the latest smart manufacturing criteria and equipped with highly flexible cutting-edge processes capable of producing a wide range of sub-sizes.

The company’s chairman Jorge Oscar Gallo discussed the most significant aspects of the investment in the interview published in Ceramic World Review no. 121.
