Ferro acquires Endeka Ceramics

Yesterday, 1 November, Ferro Corporation announced the closing of the acquisition of Endeka Ceramics (Castellón, Spain), a producer of frits and glazes, digital inks and colours for the ceramic tile, tableware and sanitaryware industries. With its strong focus on innovation and on delivering a personalised service to customers, Endeka brings the Mayfield Heights, Ohio-based multinational 9 facilities in Europe and Asia, around 340 employees and forecast 2018 revenues of €75 million (US $88 million).

"Ferro has been moving its tile-oriented portfolio up the value chain over the past few years, focusing on the high end of the market. We also have focused on achieving operating efficiencies and product innovation to ensure that our customers receive the highest quality products and services," said Julio Garcia, Ferro’s VP Europe. "With the Endeka Group acquisition, Ferro has strengthened its value creating strategy through growth and dynamic innovation by enlarging our customer base in existing markets while providing a complementary product portfolio and establishing a solid base for growth."

Jose Cabedo (Endeka COO) and Luca Pecorara (Ferro’s Europe Operations Director) will lead the integration with the objective of combining the technical and commercial experience of both teams. According to Pecorara, Endeka’s state of the art facilities will provide the required capacity to accomplish Ferro’s growth plans, especially in the high-end product segment.
