Laminam acquires a majority stake in Laminam RUS

Since last 10 March, Laminam (System Group) is the majority shareholder of the company Laminam Rus and of the manufacturing facility at Balabanovo in Kaluga Oblast, about 100 km from Moscow.

The agreement was signed at the Italian Embassy in Moscow by Laminam Chairman Franco Stefani and the entrepreneur Timirovich Ismail Akhmetov, in the presence of the Governor of Kaluga Oblast Anatoly Dmitriovich Artamanov and Laminam CEO Alberto Selmi.

The operation will enable Laminam to establish a direct presence in Russia with a manufacturing site, which will produce 1000x3000 mm panels with thicknesses of 3 and 5 mm for Russia and other markets, ensuring greater proximity to end customers for more effective and rapid distribution.

The Russian acquisition reflects the process of growth and internationalisation pursued by the Fiorano Modenese-based company, and has proceeded in step with the purchase, in December 2015, of the facility in Borgotaro (Parma, Italy). This plant will house the new production lines for ceramic panels of size 1620x3240 mm with thickness of 12 mm following a plant investment worth more than 30 million euros. The two new production sites complement the operations of Laminam’s main facility located at Fiorano Modenese in Italy and triple the company’s total production capacity.
