Neolith starts up fourth production line

After posting outstanding results in 2017, including sales revenues of more than 100 million euros, the Spanish company TheSize Surfaces is now starting up its fourth line for the production of Neolith® slabs to meet the rapidly growing global demand for sintered stone surfaces for residential and commercial projects.

TheSize was a pioneer in the large size tile segment using latest-generation technology from System. The first line commissioned in 2010 for 3600x1200 mm sizes with thicknesses of 3 and 5 mm was followed by a second in 2013 (up to 3200x1500 mm with thicknesses of between 5 mm and 20 mm), then a third in September 2016 and now the fourth which will almost double production capacity.

The new line will be used mainly for the production of 3 mm and 6 mm thick panels in sizes 3600x1200 mm, 3200x1500 mm, 2600x1200 mm and 2600x1500 mm. Much attention has been devoted to achieving the highest possible energy efficiency in the production process, including use of the innovative ICF & Welko twin-channel kiln.

"A fourth production line is a hugely significant step for us," commented Neolith’s marketing project manager Mar Esteve. "Not only is it a reflection of the brand’s rapid growth over the last two years, but it will enable us to exponentially expand our share within this highly-competitive sector. We are now the only company in our sector to have five kilns fully devoted to Sintered Stone. This gives us the flexibility needed to deal with more short-lead enquiries and the capacity to deliver a larger number of confirmed projects.

"With four new surfaces, two new finishes and a 15 further 20 mm slabs to be introduced in 2018, this new line enables us to handle the large number of colour-specific orders processed at any one time," she concluded.
