SITI B&T Group completes acquisition of Diatex

The investment improves the Formigine-based group’s competitiveness in the finishing segment.

On 21 January, SITI B&T Group completed the acquisition of a 75% stake in Diatex, a Vicenza-based company with a 2018 turnover of 10.7 million euros specialising in the production of diamond tools for machining stone, ceramic and glass. The 7.5 million euro deal was announced last June and will strengthen the SITI B&T Group’s competitiveness in the field of ceramic finishing technology, a segment where the Formigine-based group already operates through member company Ancora.

“This acquisition will enable us to generate new synergies based on Ancora’s technologies and thereby offer the market new high-performance products and new services,” said SITI B&T Group’s CEO Fabio Tarozzi. “Diatex will have the opportunity to expand its exports through our international network of more than 20 branches.”

Along with cutting disks, the Diatex catalogue also includes squaring wheels for ceramic, especially for the dry squaring segment where Ancora offers high-speed solutions guaranteeing maximum productivity.

Diatex and SITI B&T have already worked together on the development of diamond disks for an innovative pre-firing cutting system on the Supera® line installed at the Best Surface factory in Spain, which produces slabs in thicknesses ranging from 6 mm to 30 mm.
