SPC finalises the acquisition of Arco

On 28 July the ceramic glaze and colour producer SPC (Spezzano, Modena) finalised the acquisition of "Arco divisione smalti Iris" of Sassuolo, a company that it had already been operating for four years through a lease contract.

The owners of SPC Arco, Walter Serradimigni and Corrado Aristarchi, explain that the merger will enable the company to complete its product range and that the operation reflects the glaze and colour producer's intention of maintaining its manufacturing activities in the Sassuolo district without the loss of significant experience and expertise.

SPC Arco's entire range of products (including frits, glazes, engobes, screen printing pastes, grits, digital inks, glaze and body stains, special glazes, etc.) are produced in the production facilities in Sassuolo, a site area that extends over almost 32,000 sq.m including 20,000 sq.m under cover. The site also houses the company's laboratories, which are equipped with advanced instruments and manned by a team with many years of experience in research applied directly to ceramic tile production.

The company is also conducting intense research in the field of digital inks. The new Eco Friendly Ink range due to be unveiled at Cersaie is produced using a new high-performance grinding mill designed, built and patented by SPC Arco in March 2015, which produces oxides with particles sizes down to 1.50 µm. The adoption of a new plant also enables the company to produce and supply digital inks on demand, thereby eliminating warehouse stocks.
