Surfaces Group was delighted with the visitor response and extremely positive results observed at Cersaie 2021, where it presented its latest innovations for lapping, squaring and treating ceramic tiles.
Simone Sorrentino, Surfaces’ export and marketing manager, commented: “Our wide range of applications tailored to specific customer requirements catered to our entire target market, which showed a keen interest in our solutions. The most surprising aspect of the exhibition was the large number of visitors taking part, mostly from Europe. This was an encouraging sign that recovery is under way after the pandemic, while also providing an opportunity to meet our longstanding customers in person.”
With its brands (Surfaces, Adi, No Coat, Vincent, International Chips, RBM Italia and Luna Abrasivi) and seven plants operating in the ceramic, stone, glass, marble and agglomerated quartz sectors, Surfaces Group has consolidated its position as an international market leader in the production of integrated solutions for processing and finishing treatments.
“The finishing market is currently very dynamic in all geographical areas, allowing us to look to the future with optimism and to expect further growth and development,” said Sorrentino. “Significantly, the end-of-line stage has now become an integral part of the layout of all advanced ceramic companies. What was once referred to as a finishing island has now become an integral part of an industrial plant and an essential step in the production of high-quality materials.”
The digital revolution has significantly expanded the potential of finishing operations and new technologies are now making it possible to create different thicknesses and layering. Surfaces has focused on these new segments with its “World of Finishes” project, which selects and develops the best solutions for each type of surface as an innovative response to every need in terms of aesthetics and design.
Following its success at Cersaie, the company is now preparing for Cevisama 2022 due to be held in Valencia from 7 to 11 February. “In the finishing segment, the Spanish market is now aligned with Italy in terms of volumes and the search for new opportunities,” concluded Sorrentino. “However, we are looking ahead to the event with a certain amount of apprehension given the recent problems of rising prices and difficulties in procuring raw materials, as well as the now unsustainable cost of energy.”
