XAAR 2001+ printheads installed in India

Scientifica Tiles LLP, a newly-established family-run business located in Morbi (Gujarat), is the first Indian ceramic tile producer to adopt the new Xaar 2001+ GS12C printheads installed on a KERAjet ECO printer.

The company, which manufactures high-quality glaze vitrified floor tiles for the Indian, South American, Middle East and Israeli markets, chose this solution for its ability to accurately replicate natural marbles and stones, currently much in demand in the Indian market.

The 2000 nozzles with 720 dpi resolution guarantee fine details, smooth gradients and strong colours with an ink laydown of up to 40 g/m2 at 25 m/min. line speed. According to Hiren Vadaviya, Director of Scientifica Tiles, another big advantage of the Xaar 2001+ is the fact that it can achieve smooth gradients in areas of low ink coverage (0-10%), allowing for flawless replication of the subtle tones found in marble and natural stone such as onyx.

Scientifica Tiles has also opted to utilise Xaar’s High Laydown (HL) technology for special effects such as gloss, adhesive and metallic. The new bars, which will come into production by May, achieve an ink laydown of up to 120 g/m2 at 35 m/min. line speed.
