Bangladesh, Star Ceramics begins sanitaryware production

Star Ceramics, a member of KMG Group and one of the most important manufacturers of floor and wall tiles and porcelain and ceramic sanitaryware in Bangladesh, recently started up a new sanitaryware production unit supplied by Sacmi.

The plant has an output capacity of 200,000 pieces/year and is equipped with the very best pressure casting and firing technology. The line includes single-mould casting modules for articles requiring two-part moulds (ADM series) and a Riedhammer kiln for firing and refiring. Designed to ensure the highest production quality, the kiln is fully equipped with heat recovery systems to optimise consumption and reduce emissions.

This modern and efficient plant will become the flagship facility operated by the Star Group, which is looking to increase market shares in Bangladesh and in the other major Asian countries where it operates.

The start-up of the new sanitaryware production facility follows the opening of a tile factory in 2013.
