Ege Vitrifiye makes new investments in casting with Sacmi AVM technology

Ege has boosted the production of medium- and high-end WCs with the start-up of 4 new Sacmi casting cells, each equipped with 2 AVMs and robot assisted.

Ege Vitrifiye, one of the largest Turkish sanitaryware manufacturers with a capacity of 1.4 million pieces per year, has completed a major investment programme aimed at boosting its output of medium- and high-end WCs to be sold mainly on the EU market.

At the production facility in Izmir, the company has started up 4 new Sacmi casting cells, each equipped with 2 AVM machines capable of handling moulds with up to 7 parts with guaranteed quality, reliability and repeatability of the process.

The machines are assisted by robots to automate the demoulding, storage and handling operations. Each cell is also equipped with an independent slip dosing and pre-heating system. Sacmi has also supplied all the downstream equipment (water intake unit, storage units complete with demoulding supports, outfeed automation and zero-weight manipulators).

As well as improving quality, the new systems will enable Ege to increase its daily output by around 400 pieces of different WC types (back-to-wall, wall-mounted, monobloc, two-piece, rimless, etc.). The company already exports almost two-thirds of its output to 62 countries and with this investment aims to further strengthen its international market presence.

Prior to this latest order, Ege had already adopted a wide range of Sacmi solutions, including single-mould and multi-mould machines and GA2000 high pressure casting and glazing robots.
