FM:the new line of components

The growing popularity of heavy, large-format tiles is forcing producers to redesign some of the components used for transport to improve their ability to withstand loads and movements. With this in mind, FM presented a new line of such components at Tecnargilla 2012 . The new products include:

  • Containment roller conveyors. A new reinforced roller conveyor with covered and adjustable rollers has been specially designed to withstand higher lateral workloads. The rollers are coated with a special non-scratch material and the distance between them can be adjusted.Supports. A new model of reinforced support and rod guarantee resistance to the very high loads generated by the widening of the frames and the production of large tile sizes. This support will also be presented with a special aluminium profile so as to be able to fully exploit the fixing capacity on the upper section without any impediment.
  • Containment system. The "Containment bridge" system is designed to contain large-format tiles during handling on the line, preventing them from falling or moving out of position. This product offers wide clearance because it remains open and does not close the upper section of the line, facilitating for example extraction from above. By using various supports, it can be combined with the projecting roller conveyor, the T profile or conventional blades to optimise containment according to requirements.

  • Adjustment system. The SRS systems, designed to facilitate and speed up size changes, are now produced with very large frames (1000 -1100 - 1200 - 1300) for the transport of extra large tiles.
  • Tilting support. The new 0-40° Universal Inclined Fastening Support serves to secure the projecting roller conveyor or blade carrier to the square or rectangular sections fixed to the frame. It is exceptionally rugged due to the use of an anodised aluminium rotating structure. This support enables the edge to be tilted by 40° or more, facilitating containment of moving items on the lower edge.

Another new product displayed was a special roller conveyor with conical rollers capable of adhering to the transport surface and avoiding contact with the upper edge of the tile. This roller conveyor is ideal for use prior to digital printing.
