I.C.F. & Welko, the new press WKE 4800

Following its ongoing efforts in innovation, the company I.C.F. & Welko is presenting its new WKE 4800 press at Tecnargilla 2012.

The press has six main characteristics:

> A slight elliptical curvature of the two shoulder sections to optimise the distribution and level of stresses inside the structure during pressing.

> An elliptically shaped pressing cylinder that improves coupling between the piston rod and the mobile crossbeam. This allows for a lower height and hence faster movement of the mobile crossbeam.

> Protective panels surrounding the entire external perimeter of the press and the two vertical sides adjacent to the mould zone. The press has consequently been fitted with three special filters to permit inflow and outflow of air required for operation of the mould through the dedicated holes in the bed.

> All the hydraulic units and the pneumatic unit are suitably segregated and separated from the external environment.

> Three absolute transducers that operate without contact with moving parts and therefore without the risk of wear.

> Just two electrical connectors that serve to connect the press to the electrical cabinet and the operator interface.

The press also has special characteristics that are not visible from the outside. The most important of these is a new extraction system consisting of four identical but independent units that guarantee total absence of deformations of the mould extraction system and allow for extraction procedures that were previously not possible.
